Terms of Service
What you get
A working VPN client for iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS, with access to our global nodes over multiple connection protocols, for as long as your subscription is active.
Software license
The NorthStatus apps are proprietary software. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use them on the devices bound to your account, for the purpose of using the service.
The apps include third-party open-source components; they are listed in each app's About screen and remain governed by their respective licenses.
Your responsibilities
- Do not use the service for activity that is illegal in your jurisdiction
- Do not abuse bandwidth — no mass scanning, no DDoS amplification, no mirroring of other people's traffic
- Do not share your account with strangers — per-account device limits apply
- Accept that we may suspend service for the above without refund

Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not promise specific uptime. Internet routes change, nodes get blocked in certain countries, and the open internet sometimes breaks. We will work to restore service as fast as possible, but we cannot guarantee that any specific node will reach any specific destination at any specific moment.
Acceptable use — concrete examples
The following will result in account suspension without refund:
- Mass port scanning of external networks
- Attempting to defeat per-account device limits
- Reselling the service to third parties
- Hosting servers behind our IPs that receive unsolicited inbound traffic at scale
No warranty
The service and the apps are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We will do our best, but the open internet is not a perfect medium.
Changes to these terms
If we materially change these terms, we will email every account with an active subscription at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States. Any dispute will be resolved in Colorado courts.
